The next major trendies will be called “tripsters”. Trippy hipsters

Their cultural narrative?
Ageing and disillusioned with the cynicism and artless negativity of Hipsterdom, young people will react by aligning themselves with the last trend to wholeheartedly embrace (avowedly superficial) idealism: Hippyhood.

Attributes of Tripsterdom include: a love of nature built onto the pared-down modernism of hipster interiors; poetry; an emphasis on “the beauty of creation”, conveniently corresponding with the the ageing hipster-generation’s biological clocks; political causes; visible “nonconformity” based on idealism rather than irony.

Sadly, like most “counter-cultural” movements, Tripsterdom will be dominated by suburbanites and the condo-set, and fully controlled by retail entities.
Those who stand to benefit most are the always malleable Ikea, the frighteningly preemptive Apple, and the newly created Urban Outfitters Kids.
